I’m Kourtney O’Connor, an HR expert focused on human resource solutions for small businesses. With more than a decade of corporate HR experience, I’ve branched out to fill a gap for small businesses and the unique challenges they face. This led to the creation of The People Biz. My aim is to help small businesses grow by simplifying their HR strategy and create practical HR solutions to fit their individual needs.

My passion for helping small businesses comes from a deep-rooted interest in their importance to every community. I’m committed to helping local businesses grow through affordable and flexible HR support. Small businesses don’t need all of the bells and whistles that corporations do, and my goal is to give small businesses the HR support they need. Most small businesses don’t need a full-fledged HR department, and I’m here to help keep those costs down while keeping things simple.

When I’m not helping businesses navigate HR and compliance, I’m a wife, mother, and active member of the recovery community. These roles have helped form my empathetic approach to HR support – helping my clients create resilient workplaces that are also supportive and successful.
